Molly McBeath is a writer and editor and owner of McBeath Communications LLC, which develops content exclusively in technical subjects. Molly originally trained as a research scientist, getting her M.S. in hydrogeochemistry and then working on nuclear waste remediation strategies for the US Geological Survey. Her love of writing persuaded her to give up the lab coat for a keyboard in order to share her passion for a good explanation.
Over the past 20+ years, Molly has written and edited for many industries, including energy, toxicology, finance, software, and education on just about any kind of text you can think of—from brochures, websites, print ads, standardized tests, and training manuals to reports, white papers, case studies, and books. She also works regularly with scientists and engineers who are non-native speakers to help them connect with their English-speaking audiences. She was a coordinator of the Professional Editors Network and regularly speaks and writes about copyediting, freelancing, and how to write technical content that is clear, correct, and captivating.
